FemaleAct Kalkulator

FemaleAct is an association of FINTA actors who live and work in Switzerland. (FINTA stands for Women (Frauen), Intersex, Non-binary, Trans and Agender individuals.) They use their professional experience to identify where structural change is needed in the performing arts and develop projects to accelerate it.

FemaleAct has now developed the Kalkulator, a tool that is integrated into the FemaleAct website and that performing artists can use to quickly and easily calculate childcare costs. Performing artists often work outside of regular childcare hours. These working hours result in additional costs that the artists must meet themselves.

The FemaleAct Kalkulator is available free of charge to both artists and employers. It can be consulted during pay negotiations and thus contribute to a fair pay structure. With the Kalkulator, FemaleAct makes unpaid and paid care work visible and thus creates an important tool to raise awareness of the need to balance work and family in the performing arts.
