FIT for the Future
This is a transformation project that aims to become a model project in the artistic field. The aim of this three-year project, providing curatorial training and support, is to enable a new person to be a key figure in the future of an independent art institution (in this case a festival), making a gradual, harmonious and generational transition into a top role.
A possible future handover that does not result in a «clean cut»; rather, it develops strategies to generate change and development, while preserving and protecting the continuity of the project. In recent years, the main thrust for the FIT has been the assumption that theatre only makes sense if it is understood as a process that creates community; it is its humanism that makes it different from everything else.
As a unique transformation project FIT want to define it as a step-by-step process capable of astonishing and surprising us. Like any process, it carries with it germs of success and failure. It is an exercise in experimentation open to contradictions.
