Swiss Theatre Meeting

Since 2014, the Swiss Theatre Meeting has brought together the theatre scene from all four parts of the country at a different venue each year at the end of May. In close cooperation with the partner theatres in the host region, the Swiss Theatre Meeting aims to give local audiences and experts a better understanding of theatre production throughout Switzerland. In its supporting programme, it also calls for a debate on aesthetic, structural and cultural policy issues. The plays in the SÉLECTION and the events in the supporting programme will be subtitled or simultaneously translated.

Thanks to its decentralised character, the festival has established itself as the most important cross-language and cross-cultural scene meeting. The Swiss Theatre Meeting uses various formats to promote sustainable and fair practice in the performing arts. The Swiss Theatre Meeting is a promotional partner of the Swiss Performing Arts Awards, which are presented annually by the Federal Office of Culture (FOC).
