The Collective & homegirl productions: Workshop programme on sustainable structural and artistic practice
homegirl is a theatre and production association that questions existing hierarchies in theatre and tests new ways of working that reflect the diversity of young*afro-diasporic*queer artists.
The Collective is a platform for a more inclusive cultural ecosystem. We create space for perspectives that are often overlooked and strengthen BIPoC artists in their development.
The workshops strengthen The Collective and homegirl as young associations in their structural and artistic development. They promote transparent decision-making processes, a clear stance in dealing with power structures, and sustainable, fair forms of collaboration.
The three-part workshop programme serves to strengthen the structural, artistic and power-political foundations of «The Collective» and «homegirl productions», two young associations at the interface of artistic practice and socio-political engagement.
It aims to develop clear values, visions and strategies in order to establish durably viable, self-determined and sustainable working methods.
The first workshop focuses on sustainable association and collective work, developing common values and decision-making structures for long-term cooperation.

In the second workshop, the artistic identity is sharpened by reflecting on and concretising personal, political and aesthetic positions.

Finally, the third workshop is dedicated to dealing with power relations and the question of how Black and queer cultural workers can enter majority white institutions and retain their capacity for action without losing their own integrity and vision, and how they can effectively contribute their perspectives.
