This tool provides an overview of the current situation regarding social insurance, fair pay and care within the Swiss cultural sector in the form of four articles that appeared in Winterthur\u2019s cultural magazine Coucou<\/a>. It also looks beyond the immediate issues and attempts to highlight where action could be taken and where the discussion is getting stuck. This is because many people working in the arts and culture sector continue to live on the brink of precariousness, and holding multiple jobs remains a reality barely recognised by the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This feature consists of four articles that appeared in the October 2026 issue of the Winterthur cultural magazine Coucou. It comprises a feature article on social security, multiple employment, fair pay, care work and an international overview; an interview with Etrit Hasler, Managing Director of Suisseculture Sociale; an essay by care activist Karin Lustenberger on current issues in care work in the cultural sector; and an article in which three older artists describe their unique challenges. This tool is aimed at cultural professionals who wish to gain an insight into the current state of the debate and the challenges faced by many in the sector. It takes a critical look at the issues and, rather than just analysing the problems, also seeks to identify concrete solutions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
