{"id":9372,"date":"2024-03-21T14:49:40","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T13:49:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.m2act.ch\/?post_type=projects&#038;p=9372"},"modified":"2026-04-02T12:00:26","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T10:00:26","slug":"apractice","status":"publish","type":"projects","link":"https:\/\/www.m2act.ch\/en\/projects\/apractice\/","title":{"rendered":"A:Practice: An ecological organizational development tool for cultural institutions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An Ecological Organisational Development Tool for Cultural Institutions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>KlimaKontor Basel, Switzerland, has partnered with The Forgotten Angle Theatre Collaborative (FATC, South Africa) in developing an <a href=\"https:\/\/apractice.art\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">organisation development tool<\/a> which helps cultural institutions position themselves and evolve in the face of multiple interlocking ecological crises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tool integrates operational and organisational sustainability as well as various artistic and creative fields of action, such as the development of content, narratives and communication concepts, into an overarching strategy. This strategy can be adapted to the relevant situations, requirements and needs of the individual institutions. It also promotes the exchange of experience and resources between these institutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the heart of the tool is the \u00ab<a href=\"https:\/\/apractice.art\/a-practice-matrix-of-action\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A:Practice Matrix of Action<\/a>\u00bb. It facilitates the simultaneous implementation of various sustainability concepts without generating an additional economic burden. This makes it highly compatible with other common approaches to cultural change. A:Practice further focuses on ecological common-sense education, aimed both within the institutions and at their audience and political public<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-bootstrap-blocks-row row\">\n\t\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-6\">\n\t\t\t\n\n    <div id=\"text-shadow-box-block_548f2f8c005b103d4e4c4e554b80a655\" class=\"mod-text-shadow-box\" data-scheme=\"yellow\">\n\t\t<h3>The Forgotten Angle Theatre Collaborative (FATC)<\/h3>\n<p>South Africa, founded in 1995<\/p>\n<p>FATC is a rural organisation focused on social justice. It specialises in youth development work and is the founder of A:Practice. With a focus on democratisation, access and inclusion, FATC seeks to change the rural\/urban perspective on opportunity, progress and sustainability through various integrated programmes and services.<\/p>\n    <\/div>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-6\">\n\t\t\t\n\n    <div id=\"text-shadow-box-block_33e7e28a9a0169d828f604d936fb4f06\" class=\"mod-text-shadow-box\" data-scheme=\"yellow\">\n\t\t<h3>KlimaKontor Basel<\/h3>\n<p>Switzerland, founded in 2020<\/p>\n<p>KlimaKontor Basel initiates interdisciplinary and participatory art projects that connect Basel institutions and stakeholders from the spheres of arts, science and civil society and develop sustainable, solidarity-based responses to the climate crisis.<\/p>\n    <\/div>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-bootstrap-blocks-row row\">\n\t\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-8\">\n\t\t\t\n\n    <div id=\"text-shadow-box-block_e87d6ed167033d391e78920a4e752445\" class=\"mod-text-shadow-box\" data-scheme=\"white\">\n\t\t<p><strong>Persons involved <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Barbara Ellenberger<\/strong> (A:Practice Switzerland)<br \/>\nBorn in 1964. Author, communication designer and lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts. Studied philosophy, film and art history at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peter John Sabbagha<\/strong> (A:Practice S\u00fcdafrika)<br \/>\nBorn in 1972. Choreographer, community builder and artistic activist.
