Green Guide for the Performing Arts
reflector ensures that the topic of sustainability will continue to play a key role in the future behind, within and in front of the theatre curtains. Cultural organisations can use reflector to reduce their carbon footprint. With the Green Guide for the Performing Arts, theatres and festivals receive instructions for the quick implementation of environmental measures.
reflector is funded by m2act, the funding and network project of the Migros Culture Percentage for the performing arts, in cooperation with the Migros Pioneer Fund.
What does this tool offer?
The Green Guide consists of several sets of thematic guidelines with specific measures designed to facilitate action that can be implemented swiftly. All of the guidelines can be used independently from the others and in any order.

What does this tool do?
The Green Guide provides suggestions for effective, useful measures in the following areas:
- Mobility
- Production
- Energy
- Programming
- Gastronomy
- Communication
Each set of guidelines suggests several measures that can be selected individually. This enables a tailored plan of action to be created and then downloaded as a PDF.
Why is this tool important?
It’s not easy to implement concrete environmental measures in everyday life. With the Green Guide, each theatre can carve out their own path – depending on the resources at their disposal – as well as compile tailored measures and create a suitable action plan.
Who is this tool aimed at?
The Green Guide supports cultural institutions in their journey towards a sustainable cultural sphere. The guidelines were developed together with theatres with the aim of supporting cultural artists in the performing arts in their journey towards a sustainable cultural sphere.
